PERIA.
About fifty residents of Peria assembled on Monday evening for the purpose of paying a surprise visit to “ Blennerville,” the home of Mr and Mrs W. Blennerhassett. The party was organised by the members of the Peria Red Cross branch in order to give a welcome home to Corporal Roland Blennerhassett, and to farewell his brother, Private Neal Blennerhassett. During a very pleasant evening spent in dancing, music, songs and games, Mr H. Rollett addressed the gathered friends on the excellent record attained by the Blennerhassett family. He also spoke feelingly of the sons who were shortly leaving, and expressed the wish that they might “ come through ” right and return to their parents at Peria. The evening was a success in every respect,*and was entered into most enthusiastically by all concerned. By the end of the present month Mr and Mrs Blennerhassett will have had seven sdns who have or are participating in the great war.
