It was explained to members that several judges had disappointed the association in connection with the show, but luckily there were other competent judges present as visitors. These had come forward at a critical time, and pulled the association out of its dilemma. To these was extended a hearty vote of thanks. It was also decided to thank the judges, and also several members of the executive and others who had rendered yeoman service. BOY RIDERS. It was decided that the secretary write to several of the boy risers in the “under 14” class asking for their birth certificates, it being alleged that several competitors were over age. HACK CLASSES. It was decided that a recommendation be made for next year’s show that ladies be not allowed to ride in hack classes, or gentlemen in ladies’ hack classes. The steward of the classes stated that there had been a scarcity of ladies, and with the consent of the lady riders he had allowed gentlemen to ride in the ladies’ classes. The ladies stipulated that they be allowed to compete in the gentlemen’s classes. It was decided to endorse the steward’s action in giving his consent, but his action was not to be accepted as a precedent. Numerous other recommendations for improvements in the show were tabled to be submitted to the incoming executive committee. ACCOUNTS. Accounts totalling £36 6s 9d were passed for payment.
