At the Fanners’ Auctioneering Co.’s Sale at Waihou on Friday there was a good yarding. Prices were :—Pigs : weatiers from Gs to 10s, slips 14s to 17s 6d. porkers 29s to £2 10s. Sheep : fat wethers, small, 30s 9d to 33s ; fat ewes 278 to 29 Id; good full-mouthed ewes 21s 2d to 23s 4d, good woolly lambs 16s, shorn cull lambs 7s 6d. Beef : prime fat steers £l6 to £l6 10s, heavy fat cows £l3 10s to £l7, lighter sorts £ll 5s to £l2 7s, forward fresh conditioned cows £9 4s to £lO 2s, store cows £6 17s to £8 7s, three to three years and a-half old steers £ll lls to £l3 14s, 20-month lo two-year-old steers £8 7s 6d to £lO 13s, 18-month steers £6 6s to £6 Pis, 20-month Shorthorn heifers, in calf, £8 2s, heavy bulls 15Igns to 20£gns, lighter llgns to 12gns, good steer calves £4 2s to £4 12s 6d, heifer calves £2 13s to £3 10s, mixed sexes £2 18s to £4 7s, weedy calves 21s to 395, springers £8 10s to £ll 15s. 1 t At the Westfield sale on Wednesday beef showed an upward tendency. There was a slight advance in the price of sheep and lambs. Calves maintained recent rates but pigs were slightly easier.
