TENNIS NOTES.

(By ’’Service”) The Matamata club is now well established and new members are finding their way along. Members are showing marked improvement. The ladies are giving their mind to the ladder competition, Mrs Burke still occupying top place; but I hope to see some very brisk play for that place before long. Mrs Kusab, Mrs Laurie are making good headway, but would do well to practice long shots. Of the men I notice, B. Blennerhassett playing well, also G. Bell. The latter player is perhaps a trifle too keen on smashing. Rev Partridge, R. Burke, F. Connell are good regular players. Buckley and others are also improving. It is proposed to hold a tennis club dance shortly.
