HAMILTON SOLDIERS’ MEMORIAL.
Conference of Representatives. A meeting was held at Hamilton on Thursday to discuss the proposal to erect a memorial to the soldiers who had taken part in the war. Mr G. Howie, chairman of the Morrinsville Town Board, and Mr A. Orr, the riding representative on the Piako County Council, were amongst those present. After considerable discussion the form of the proposal finally decided on was a hall, war museum and club to be called the Waikato Soldiers’ Memorial. A proposal that the memorial should take the form of an agricultural college at Kuakura was rejected.
