CONFERENCE OF FARMERS.
Important Decisions. At the conference of representatives of the Waikato, King Country, Te Awamutu and Thames Valley sub-provincial areas of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, held in Hamilton on Friday, several important matters were fully discussed. The following resolutions were carried: That a system of subscriptions on a graduated basis on the capital value of properties be adopted by sub-provincial areas. That for the purpose of owning property and collecting subscriptions the Sub-Provincial Associations be incorporated under the Unclassified Societies Act. That the rules be altered to admit of presidents of sub-pro-vincial areas being members of the Provincial Executive. That the union work in conjunction with the A. and P. Associations. Colonel Wynyard stated that the Te Awamutu premises had been placed at the disposal of the A. and P. Association, which had made use of the office. The matter of appointing a joint organiser for the Te Awamutu and Waikato Sub-provincial areas was discussed. No action was taken, the matter of organisation being deferred for further consideration.
