MATAMATA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.
Executive Meeting. An executive meeting of the Matamata A. and P. Association was held in the Farmers’ Union hall on Monday evening. Mr E. C. Banks was elected to the chair. Ten members were present. NEW MEMBERS. Messrs W. Richards, P. Going and W. Owen Garland were elected members of the association. CATERING. The tender of Messrs Miles and Simon, of Cambridge, was accepted for catering (luncheon and afternoon tea), and that, of Mrs Darby for confectionery, soft drinks, etc. A BAND. The terms of the Hamilton Brass band to provide music on Show day were accepted. Members spoke in favorable terms of the programme submitted last year. JUDGES. Further business conducted was the consideration of replies from proposed judges. Many of the gentlemen written to replied in favorable terms. HEAD STEWARDS. It was decided to ask the following members to act as head stewards : —Hacks and hunters, Mr W. Egan; harness horses, Mr S. Gunn; draughts, Mr M. Madill; cattle, Mr J. Price; sheep, Mr I. Blennerhassett; pigs, Mr G. Vogt; dogs, Mr A. Weeks; vehicles, Messrs 11. Bollett and A. W. Day; press steward, Mr J. Pohlen ; home industries, Mr E. Bowler; cookery, Mrs Carolan; flowers, Miss L. Duxfield; needlework, Mrs Stanley senr.; school competitions Miss V. Blennerhassett. GROUND COMMITTEE. The following were appointed a ground committee: —Messrs A. Bowler, J. Pohlen, W. Egan, B. Schwarz, I. McNair, andJ. W. Simpson. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. It was decided to apply to the railway department for extra carriages on trains, and to allow trains to stop at the show grounds.
