X 3? ,l J CLEARING SALE. A clearing sale of Mr C. I). Dawson's live stock, and furniture ,was conducted by the N.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency on Wednesday. There was an exceptionally large attendance for a saleiof its kind, and it was what could be termed " a rattling good sale." "" War prices " were realised for all lines of furniture, crockery, etc. offered. A sheep offered in aid of Red Cross funds realised 325. Some of the prices were:—Bay harness, mare JGI3 ss, bay hack and harness horse £1 10s. Pigs—slips 15s to 19s, small porkers 22s to 355, porkers £2 Is to £2 4s. About a dozen head ot cattle were offered but all failed to reach the reserve. A " Paul Trudeu " piano brought £43, and Mr Dawson's private gig realised £2o 10s. His well known brown gelding was offered, but was quickly withdrawn fromjsale.
