METHODIST CHURCH.
Fifth Annual Picnic. The annual Methodist picnic was held in Mr Barugh’s plantation on Boxing Day. As the weather was all that could be desired a large number of friends gathered from all parts of the district to enjoy themselves as their different tastes led them. The young people kept the games going from start to finish whilst the older ones sat under the trees chatting and getting much enjoyment from the social intercourse. The minister, Mr Richards, was indefatigable in his efforts to see that all had a good time. Motor cars were provided by him to convey visitors from Morrinsville and friends in the district. Thanks are also due to Mr J. F. Vosper for arranging races for the children and providing the milk, also to those who assisted. The minister and friends desire to thank Mr Barugh for the use of his beautiful grounds. Among the visitors were Mrs Cleave, of Waitara, and Mr and Mrs Perrott, of Waitoa. All spent a very happy day and returned home in the evening “at the call of the cows ” quite satisfied that it was the best and most successful picnic held there.
