The University of the South Pacific JUNIOR FELLOW (Post 78/17) Applications are invited from citizens of the Uni-; versity region forthe position of Junior Fellow in the Institute of Social and Amdinistrative Studies. Candidates must possess a good, bachelor’s degree from a recognized University, and either provide evidence of postgraduate study or at least two years of work experience in the private sector and/or government service. The appointee will be required to contribute to the Institutes’ training courses in the areas of management and administration. Some of these courses are held outside Fiji, in the countries served by the University and the appointee would be expected, when required, to assist with these. He will also participate in research and consultancy exercises. The post of Junior Fellow is designed to recruit and train regional persons with potential for University teaching. Though the successful regional candidate will be offered a three year contract with the prospect of tenure at the end of it, his/her performance will be reviewed at the end of the first year in accordance with established University procedures. On the satisfactory completion of the first year he/she will also be encouraged to enrol for post-graduate studies at USP. Salary in accordance with qualifications and experience on the scale: $F6340 x 288 — $F7204. In addition the University provides 15% gratuity, superannuation contribution, appointment allowance, partly furnished accomodation at a maximum rental at present at 15% ; 0f salary.' Appointments will be renewable by mutual agreement.
