Who’s Who

Three Samoans are listed in the 1977-78 edition of The International Who’s Who. They are the Head of State, His Highness Malietoa Tanumafili 11, the member of the Council of Deputies, Tupua Tamasese Lealofi IV, and Cardinal Pio Taofinu’u. Published by Europa Publications of London, the massive volume contains several thousand concise biographies “of the outstanding men and women of our time.” Aside from the usual information the entries also contain a heading “leisure interests.” In the case of Tupua Tamasese these are listed as reading and golf. Cardinal Pio listed his interests as gardening, music and art.
