Mana Netball Team
A group of young women who previously played netball for the University of Auckland Maori Club netball team have decided to play for Mana in this year’s Auckland Netball competitions. They made this decision after realizing that none of them attended varsity any longer and they also made the startling discovery that only three of them were in fact Maori. The team includes a Tongan, a sprinkling of Samoans, a Fijian and a few odds and ends and of course a few Maoris. This multi-cultural combination seemed to be made to order for Mana.
Although this team has a lot of suppressed talent, they have a great aptitude for entertaining the spectators, so this year we hope to be able to start our own sports section. Any other parties
interested in creating a team for Mana are welcome to do so, as long as they are of a multicultural basis and they don’t expect any financial aid as we are broke. We can however given them a write-up each fortnight
An emblem is being designed by a class from Seddon High, especially for Mana Sports teams.
