Voting Hassles

If you are residing here in New Zealand and would like to participate in the Cook Islands’ general election or byelection then you cannot unless you go back to the Cook Islands. One has two choices. Ask the government to alter the electoral act so that it allows us to vote from here or go back before the voting takes place. But it is rumoured that those who intend to go back might find some difficulties. That is, as the rumour says, it could be changed to the effect that one must reside continuously three months before voting takes place in the Cook

Islands.
