A health survey was carried out recently on the island of Mitiaro led by Doctor George Koteka. They were looking for the existence of filariasis, tuberculosis, diabetes and malnutrition. If these were found to be in existence an enquiry into the causes or failure of the Health Department to eliminate the diseases would be mounted.
