Pomani Tangata
A great feast was held on Thursday night, August 4 1977, to farewell Pomani Tangata. It was a feast put on by the Enua-a-manu Society as a token of their appreciation for what Mr Tangata has done for the people of that island back in the Cooks. Support was given to him to show the Cook Islands Government that mean methods of getting rid of a political whip, especially from
the opposition side of the house, can always be challenged. And in his case he is certainly going to do just that. It might end up in the Supreme Court, especially the fact that another island doctor. who has never examined him, was allowed to sign him up as a hospital in-patient. It is possible to sue that person, according to Mr Tangata, for that kind of act. Forgery and falsification were certainly implied in that action.
