PACIFIC ISLANDS SUPPLEMENTARY TEACHER TRAINING COURSE A two-year full time course of supplementary teacher training may be held at Wellington and Auckland Teachers Colleges, for Pacific Island Trained Teachers already resident in New Zealand. The purpose of the course is to provide an opportunity for further training which can lead to the award to a New Zealand Trained Teachers Certificate, so that teachers can take up positions in New Zealand. The course will be varied to suit the needs of individual teachers. The first year will be spent at a teachers college, and the second year in selected schools. * Applicants must hold permanent residential status in New Zealand, as at 1 February 1976. * be Pacific Islands Trained Teachers. * be over 20 years of age and under 46 years of age * have a good knowledge of the English language The course will begin in February 1978. An allowance of $5,064 plus cost of living allowance will be paid for the first year, and Year 1 teachers salary for the next year. Applications close 30 September.
