Titewhai Harawira of Ayondale, Auckland is at present attending an “aboriginal Land Rights Conference” in Australia. She has gone in support as a representative from Bastion Point. A conference was held recently in Rotorua for Maori Lawyers and Graduates to discuss ways of improving court proceedings for Maoris. A fund raising project organised by Dr George De Latour and others, for Maori students from Ngatiporou (East Coast) who will be seeking higher education, has now reached $lO,OOO. Principals of Secondary Schools met for a Seminar on Maoritanga at Te Tira Hou Marae. Panmure, last week.
