Aug 15 - Nga Tapuwae College Culture Group will be leaving Auckland on a tour to the East Coast. They will be hosted at Poho-o-Rawiri at Gisborne, Kapohanga at Hiruharama, where they will be visiting Porourangi at Waiorjiatatini - Sir Apirana Ngata’s Marae, Raukokore, Te Kaha, Opotiki and Rotorua, arriving back Aug 21st.
Aug 19 - Helen Kesha will be one of the chaperones going to Australia with the 14th Grade Ellerslie Eagles Rugby League team. They will spend 9 days there.
Sept 2,3,4 - Young Maori Leadership Conference will be held at Auckland University Friday night Sept 2- Miraka Szazy will be presenting a •paper on “Leadership of Maori Women”. < Saturday 3 Sept - there will be a panel discussing “Role of Churches and Maori Development” with Rev Hone ,Kaa, Rev Rua Rakena, and Purewa Biddle.
Sunday Sept 4 - “Maoris & Trade Unions” by Syd Jackson, Dave Clarke, & Smiler Karaka.
Sept 14-21 - National Maori Language Week.
Fund raising for “Rakai Te Mania” - Tg Horo,
Waiomatatini. Kei te tangi te kuia nei mo tona iwi, te kore moni kite whakatikatika i a ia.
