ROWDYISM AT THE ARROW.
To the Editor of the Lake Wakatip Mail.
Sib,—l *ish to draw attention to the fact that the present police force here seems totally inadequate to repress the scenes of rowdyism frequently occurrying on this township. The district is unfortunately infested with a mob of low blackguards who take every opportunity of causing disturbance and riot; their favorite time for this amusement being Sabbath afternoon and evening. Whilst we could depend on the energetic action of Sergeant Lynch, these unruly fellows were kept in order; but now presuming on his absence they disturb our streets with scenes which are a disgrace to any civilized society, and which our present police force seem unable to quell It is sincerely hoped that we shall not be entirely deprived of the worthy Sergeant's presence. I am, yours respectfully, Oed£e. Arrow, Sept. 28,1863.
