MADAGASCAR.
MASSACRE OP THE KING, THE AMKBICAN CONSUL, AND SEYENTEEN OFFICEBS OF STATE.
The barque Formosa, which arrived in Hobson's Bay during Sunday night, brings the following startling news. Captain Beaton reports that shortly before he left Mauritius, on the Ist tilt, information had been received there from Madagascar, stating that the King of Madagascar, with seventeen of his officers of state, as also the American Consul, had been murdered; and that the English and French Consuls had been obliged to fly from the capital. Tins news has been confirmed by letter received by Mr. Wm. Joshua, of the firm of Messrs. Joshua Brothers and Co.. owners of the Formosa, from his brother, at Mauritius, dated Ist ult, stating that information had been received that " a revolution has broken out at Madagascar; the King, with seventeen of his officers of state, and the American Consul have been murdered; and the English and French Consuls were obliged to fly from the capital."
