Mining Notices. APPLICATION FOR LEASE. Nelson South-West Goldfields, August 16th 1886. To the Warden at Lyell— I HEREBY apply for a Gold-Mining Lease of the lands hereinafter described, in accordance with the GoldMining Leases Regulations of New Zealand, and I agree, upon the approval of this application, to execute a lease upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same. Minimum number of men proposed to be employed by the lessee —For the first six months, 4 men; subsequently, when in full work, 8 men. Amount of capital proposed to be invested —£10,000. Proposed mode of working the landBy tunnelling. Precise locality—Alpine Range. Bounded on the north by Crown Lands, on the south by the United Alpine Company's ground, on the east by the Lyell Creek Extended Company's ground, and on the west by Crown Lands. Term for which lease is required—ls years. Time of commencing operations—As soon as lease is granted. General remarks The ground now applied for is a portion of a Special Claim formerly held by the New South Wales Company, but now cancelled. The above application and any objection thereto will be heard at the Warden's Office at Lyell, on WEDNESDAY, the 29th SEPTEMBER, 1886. Any person desiring to object to the issue of a Mining Lease upon the above application must, within 3Q dear days from the date of such application, enter his objection at the Warden's Office at Lyell. To the Warden at Lyell— WE HEREBY apply for a Special Claim of the lands hereinafter described, in accordance with the 93rd Section of " The Mines Act, 1877," of New Zealand, and we agree, upon the approval of this application, to accept the Special Claim upon the basis therein stated, if the Governor shall think fit to grant the same. United Alpine Quartz Mining Company, Limited, By their Manager, James Inglis, Applicant. Name and address in full of applicants— United Alpine Quartz Mining Company, Limited, by their Manager, James Inglis, LyeU. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business— United Alpine Extended Quartz Mining Company. Extent of ground applied for—4o acres. Minimum number of men proposed to be employed by the lessee —For the first twelve months, 6 men; subsequently, when in full work, twelve men. Amount of capital proposed to be invested—£"2o,ooo. Proposed mode of working the land— Ordinary mode of quartz mining. Precise locality—Alpine Range. Bounded on the south by part United Alpine Special Claim and part Crown lands, on the east by the Lyell Creek Extended Special Claim, on the north and west by Crown lands. Term for which lease is required—ls years. Time of commencing operations —On granting of lease. General Remarks Portion of this ground was formerly occupied by the United New South Wales Company as a Special Claim. The above application and any objection thereto will be heard at the Warden's Office, at Lyell, on WEDNESDAY, the 29th SEPTEMBER, 1886. Any person desiring to object to the issue of a Mining Lease upon the above application must, within thirty clear days from the date of such application, enter his obiection at the Warden's Office at Lyell.
