LATEST CABLE TELEGRAMS.
London, July 5. A number of telegrams have been published in the newspapers which show that in December last Mr Gladstone offered to co-operate with the Conservative party in dealing with the Irish difficulty. Gladstone stated that he made an offer on the grounds that he had received information that the power behind Parnell threatened to perpetrate outrages in England. The election returns show 155 Conservatives, 32 Unionists, GO Gladstones, and 25 Parnellites. Bradlaugh and Labouchere (Liberals), have been re-elected for Northampton, and Lord George Hamilton (Conservative), for Ealing.
Sir Charles Dilke has been defeated for Chelsea.
The elections are being carried on with varying success from a party point of view, Liberals displacing Conservatives and vice versa.
Thorold Eogers has been ousted by a Conservative.
New York, July o. Information has been received in this city that two American vessels were seized oil the Nova Scotian coast.
Paeis, July 5. The Due d' Aumale has been removed from the French army list by order of the Government.
