Lyell Times. SATURDAY, APRIL 17, 1830.

The Rev. J. B. Rolland will conduct services as usual to-morrow, arriving at -Lyell tonight. The United Alpine return, for past, •seven days and eight hours crushing, ilroui the plates, was 512 ouuces of amalgam. The amount oi stone crushed was 234 tons. The secretary of the Lyell Hospital Committee acknowledges the sum of i' 3 13s from Mr Gorried, subscribed by the Auckland Alpine shareholders, per favor Mr Pennell; also the sum ot 10s from Mr Frank Sheran, Alpine mine. On Saturday evening last, at Fennell's Hall, Mr Seaborn discoursed upon the merits of great rtoets and some prosp authors, to the e I lent approval o" a go d liou.se. If hearty applause at the end of each recital can be accepted as ah acknowledgement of diversified talent then Mr Seaborn was successful indeed. His Sunday lecture was fairly attended, and by the majority of persons evidently ap predated.

Courts were held at Murchison on Tuesday, 13th instant, before Frank Bird, Esq., R.M., when the following business was transacted: —Rowe v. James, claim for £1 16s 6d, judgment for the amount with 6s costs ; Barnwell v. Ma>, claim for .£BS lis 2d, judgment for i-11 (>s 8d paid into Court, with 40s costs; Green v. A. Guet, aud Beamsley v. Kelly were struck out. In the Warden's Court the following applications were granted:— John Jorden, water-race; 11. Baneton, increase of water supply; C. Buhner, protection to wate race; J. Oxnam, water race ; G. Ketchell, water race ; M. Byrne, water race, protection for water race, special site, and protection for water race; J. Mtirtagh, water race ; S. Schofield, water race; M. Byrne's application for the Enterprise and Broken Hill were adjourned for survey.

Frank Bird, Ksq., Kesident Magistrate and Warden, held Courts, at Lyell, on Wednesday, when the following business was disposed o< :—Fennell v. J. Shaw, claim for £2O 7s 2d, judgment for the amount claimed, and costs £1 15s. M'Coy v. Meates, claim for £ 2 3s 6d; judgment for the amount claimed, with costs lis. M'Powell v. Ullmer, claim for £l4 6s, services rendered as nurse to defendant's wife and family ; the plaintiff proved that the amount sought to be recovered. £'l per week, was the ruling rate in Lyell for similar services, and obtained judgment for £\ 3s fid, allowing a set-off of £8 2s Gil; costs £1 95.. Fennoil v. Mates, judgment summons for £5 Gd; order made that the amount claimed, with costs, be paid forthwith. Eklund v. Wolf and Feddersen, cla4m for £11; non-suited with costs. Fennell v. Meates, claim for £l2 10s Bd, goods supplied; judgment for the amount claimed, and 20s costs. M'Coy v. M'Dowell, claim for £1 12s, 7d, drapery supplied;, judgment for the amount claimed, with 6s costs. The business in the Warden's Co'irt was as follows: Aoplicjitifins: T. Prytherick, water nice ; H.
