A Spanish journal advocates the use of condemned criminals for cholera experiments. A strange incident occurred at the opening of Parliameat by the Queen. The Marquis of Queensbnry, at the ceremony of the House of Lords, pre* sented himself at the entrance to the Chamber, having previousllr passed all the police and other officials by giving his name. At the entrance to the House itself, however, he was stopped by the official in charge, who informed him that as he was a Scotch peer he had no right of admission. The marquis, however, insisted upon his right; whereupon he was invited to retire to the robing«room, as it was im* perative that a peer should wear his robes. The attendants showed the marquis into the room and then locked the door upon him. After the cere mony some of those who had taken part in it returning to the robingroom, were surprised to find that the marquis had been a close prisoner.
