THE STAMP ACT, 1875. ri AUTlON.—Transferors and traha j fer fees in j»old mining and other companies and societies are warned against executing any instrument of sale or transfer unless the name ot the purchaser or transferee is iuserted therein at or before the execution thereof, a maximum penalty of £IOO under section 103, being incurred thereby. Any such instrument, more over, so signed is absolutely void and inoperative, and does not divest the transferor of his interest therein, and he remains liable thereon as it he bad never disposed ot the same. It the transferor be a licensed sharebroker his license is forfeited on conviction and thereafter he is disqualified frum actiug as a broker or trom having a tresh iicense issued to him.
