Londcw, May 14. Negotiations are still proceeding with legard to the Afghan frontier question. It is proposed that the Russian boundary shall be fixed at Penjdeh, while the frontier of Afghanistan will not extend n Ol th ot Zulfirkar Pass. The neutral zene will be between the two territories. May 15, In the Home of Commons last night a division took place on the vote of censure, proposed by Sir Stafford Northcute, the leader of the Opposition, with the lesult that the motion was rejected. Mi* Painell and the Irish party voted with the minority. informed the House that (ioverwuient were awaiting a reply fVom Russia in regard to the pjrtion of the Afghan frontier line which had not yet been delimited. Hie New South Wales contingent, 1 under orders to return to Australia, will leave Suakim for Sydney on the sth I June. May 15. The Right Revd. Dr Moran, Roman L catholic Archbishop of Sydney, leaves for i Rome on the 12tb June. He expects to f be back in Australia by December next. May 16. Government has been advised that the J New South Wales contingent, which will i shortly embark for Sydney, will be trans--3 ported at the expense of the British f Government. The whole of the horses r sent to the Soudan, with the Colonial Artillery, have been presented to the War Office as a gift from New South Wales.
