RED CROSS WORK.
COMFORTS WANTED FOR HANMER. The Canterbury branch of the Red Cross Society appeals for comforts for the Queen Mary Convalescent Hospital at "Hanraor. The articles urgently needed are: Deck chairs, cushions, gramaphone reuords, dried tipple? or apricots. , Seven of the returned wounded from the Willochra have been Bent direct to Hanmer, and on Friday a consignment of clothing, etc., was sent up by the society for their use,, with a small surplus in caso of any later arrivals. The consignment consisted of twelve pairs of bedroom slippers, twelve pairs bedsock3, twelve bed jackets, twelve dressing gowns, twelve razors, six packets of blades., one patchwork rug, two patchwork cushions.
