At tho quarterly meeting of the St Albans Eicchabito Tent, held on Wednesday, Brothers A Martin and Hassall were appointed to represent the Tent at the official opening of tha Baud of Hope competitions. An announcement was made that it wns hoped at
an early dat© to establish «t St Albans a juvenile branch of the Rochabito Order. _ The anniversary cervices of the Hish, Street Sunday Schocl on Sunday were high-
ly successful, the congregations good and the singing of the scholars under the direction of"Mi- N. Tumor wax excellent; Miss Hcydor presiding at tho piano. The services were conducted' by the Rev T. W. Vcalio in tho morning, the Rev A. C. Lawry in the aitcrnoon and '.ho Rev N. Turner tit night. On Thursday evening the annual concert was given, when the scholars rendered in excellent stylo " The Discontented Gobelins," the management and training beine the work of M>- aiid Mrs Ernest Smith, assisted by Miss MJethorol), Miss Hcycler playing the necessary musical items. Mr N. Turner ('.'.). Voles of thanks were t'iven to Mr and Mrs E. Smith and tho vocalists. • The usual meeting of tho Avonside cursing Division or* the St John Ambulauco Brigade was held on Thursday evening, fortyone" members being present. As it was the annual meeting,'the-lady superintendent's -e----porb was road, and the balance-sheet presented. The report and balance-sheet were adopted, Mrs Rhodes, lady superintendent, was accorded a very hearty veto of thanks for her good work and generosity during the year. U was announced that owing to the which tho division had -tlaiued no more nominations for membership would be
received till further notice. It was decided that, tho next meeting should take tho form of s. wcial evening to celebrate tho first anniversary of the formation of tho division. Willsteod referred to the death of Bro. J. Harris, one of the oldest Druids in tho Dominion, and spol* feelingly of the many services Bro. ance in the, early days. A vote of condoloiico to tho -widow was canied, members standing. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to P.S.
