DURHAM STREET METHODITS CHURCH.
QUARTERLY MEETING. Tho quarterly meeting oi the Durha'm Street Circuit was held on Thursday evening. The Rev P. J. Knight presided over a good attendance. Tiie pastoral report showed the number on tho church roil to lie ‘202, u slight increase tor the year. ■- The balance-sheet presented by the circuit stewards was very satisfactory, r substantial sum being available for trust .funds. In addition to circuit income tho sum of £l6 had been raised for the Featheraton Institute and £2O for Christmas comforts for men at ihe front. Mr A. T. Bnrrell having -tendered this resignation as superintendent of “he Sunday school, tho meeting placed cn record its appreciation of bis pßst services. The Rev Percy Knight was heartily ahd unanimously invited to labour; in the circuit for a fourth year. Tho invitation was accepted. ' Messrs E. C. Brown and G. Barrel! were elected delegates to synod, and Messrs Chas. Overton and E. lies substitute delegates. A resolution, “That it is desirable that local preaciiers be directly represented at synod and conference,'' was to be remitted to the coming synod for consideration.
