Yesterday Mr W. D. Marks received a cable message stating that Ins son, Private H. R. Marks, of the Ist Canterbury Company, is in London progressing favourably after a- slight operation.
Mr L. G. Austin, who has held tne position of first assistant master at the Rangiora Borough School for the last two years has received notice of his appointment as second assistant master at tho District High School, Hastings.
