POULTRY. Thero waa a fair entry of poultry at tho soleyards on Saturday, but the supply was for too small for tho demand. Prices wore very high, one lino of 30 White Leghorn cookerela rea Using 8a 2d, while tho heavy breeds sold up to 11b 2d. Hcn3 were scarce at 6s to 8b 4d, pullets 5s 6d to'lOs 9d, ducks 8s to 11b 3d, geese 9s to lis, turkey hens 9:1 to 16b and gobblers 17a to 38s, all at per pair. At another saieynrds there was a large entry of good birds. Bidding was briak and prioes good. Tho following were the prices realised per pair :—Roosters 6s 4d to 10s 2d, hens Cs 3d.to 10s, late pullets 7s 3d to 8s Id, ducks B's 7d to 9s Id,. Chicks (cockerels) sold at Is each. EGGS. The tone of the wheat market is weaker, and holders in tho country aro not prepared to do business. The only sale reported is one of Velvet, whicli changed hands at 5s 4d net, delivered. Business in potatoes is at a standstill, owing to'the absence of any outside orders. Very few merchants have touched tho trade thin season, and those few now prefer to await developments. i TATTERSALL'S HORSE BAZAAR. Thero was an entry of 56 horses at TatterßaU'e on Saturday. Tho greater proportion comprised fairly good useful draugat horses of varying ages, and these were all disposed of at satisfactory prices.
