Inaugurating the new direct cargo service between Japan and New Zealand, the Nippon Yusen Ka-isha cargo steamer Akita Maru arrived, in Wellington harbour on Friday afternoon from Japan, via. Sydney. In conneotion with the ox-German steamer Adelaide, the following message was received' last week by the Chamber of Commerce, Sydney:—" Adelaide expects complete maohinory repairs to-morrow Commander protests vessel unscaworthy without docking.
