CANTERBURY'S POSITION. Mr G-. L. Donaldson, secretary of tho Belgian Fund, has written to the Hon G. W. Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs, forwarding shortages in contributions from tho province of Canterbury for January, February, March and April, amounting to £1482 103 9d. Mr Russell, in reply, has written thanking the executive oi the fund and informing it that the sum will bo subsidised by tho Government pound for pound and will bo sent to the authorities in London.
