A meeting of Hanmer residents and soldiers interested in golf was held in tho social hall last week, Mr J. Dodds, president of the golf club, being in the chair. Correspondence with the Minister of Internal Affairs was wad by tho chairman. Mr Percv Smith was appointed* secretary. It. was decided that the subscriptions should be £3 "2s for men and £1 Is for ladies. It was resolved that a small committee should he set u" to examine the greens and make what arrangements it can to carry out improvement!", the committee *o consist of Captain Hardham, Trooper Ryan. Private Campbell and Messrs Smith and Lahmert. Tho chairman was empowered to accept tho lease of the links if a favourable reply was received from tho Tourist Department.
