BANKS PENINSULA

MEETING OF COMMITTEE.

The committee of the Banks Peninsula Agricultural and Pastoral Association met in the Library, Little Hirer, on Tuesday; present—Messrs J. 1*• Buchanan (chairman), J. 0. Coop, J). G. Birdling. T. Quealy, W. F. Parkinson, F. Williams. T. W. Birdling, P. Fahey, J. Parkinson, J. Johnson, H. Chapman, A. V. Hutchinson, J. Chapman. W. Cossar, T. E. Stanbury, G. Stanbury, T. White, T. Thompson, W. Radford, I). Richards, C. Wynn-Wil-lianis, F. Coop. J. Reed, W. Jaconsen, C. Cradock and 11. Lewthwaito (secretary). Air A. Macpherson. Government Fields Instructor, and Mr J. G. Scott, stock inspector. Lincoln, attended the meeting. Mr Macpherson spoke with reference to the establishment of an experimental plot in the district, and gave much useful advice in the matter. Tho visitors were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. On the motion of Mr Coop, seconded by Mr Parkinson, it was decided that tho Agricultural Committee already formed jn the district should take stops to acquire land for the purposes of an experimental plot to be worked under the supervision of the Agricultural Department. The namo of Air F. 'Williams of Robinson's Bay was added to the committee.

Tho financial statement, showed a credit balance of approximately £135. A list of tho numerous donors of special prizes was read, and it was found that Over £IOO had been paid or promised. The thanks of the association wore accorded to those supporters. Messrs L. "Wilson and Leo Fahey were elected members of tho association.

After some discussion with reference to members unfinancial for three years, it was decided, on the motion of Mr J. Chapman, seconded by Air T: Thompson, that tho names of members uniininciai far three yeans should In* struck off the membership roll ;f the amounts outstanding against them aro not paid by the time the complimentary tickets for the show are sent out. Afer some minor alterations had been made to last year’s programme further arrangements wore left in the hands of Mr H. Chapman and tho secretary.

It was decided to engage a band for show day, and the secretary was instructed to call for tenders for publican’s and luncheon booths.
