MEETING OF THE COUNCIL. [Pkr Prf-ss Association.]
WELLINGTON. September 21
The Council of tho Dominion Bowling Association mot to-day, Colonel Collins (president) in the chair. Mr J. J. Roberts wub elected secretary and Mr A. E. Fowltr treasurer. Tlio levy on clubs was fixed at threepence per member. Tho receipts last year wero £l3O and the expenses £152. It was decided that tlio next tournament should consist of singles, doubles and rinks, tho profits to to devoted to patriotic purposes. Tho tournament will begin on January 8 and last a week. Tho Dunedin Centre was given permission to hold a tournament at Easter. Applications from South Auckland and Napier were referred to the respective centres. It was decided to obtain reports from centres where there were bowl testers as to whether they were satisfactory. • A discussion took place on tho two feet on tho mat rule, and it was resolved to request centres to see that tho rule was observed, but not to introduce a penalty at present. Dunedin was granted permission to hold a doubles tournament at Christmas.
