SOLDIERS’ CHRISTMAS GIFT FUND.

, SPREYDO-N. Mrs W. 11. Winsor acknowledges the following donations for Christmas gifts received by the Sprcydon ‘ Lady Liverpool branch :—Mrs J. Cotton- 10s, Mrs W. Cotton 10s, Mrs Fehsenfeld ss. WAIPARA. On Tuesday evening a progressive euchre tournament was held in Mr J. C. T. Baker’s shed, Waipnra, for the purpose of -assisting tho Lady Liverpool Fund. All present donated a gift foi‘ the Soldiers’ Christmas. Gift Fund. As a result of the evening the following articles were forwarded to the Lady Liverpool Depot:—l2 tins condensed milk, 3 tins coffee aud milk, a tins, sardines, 21 tins cigarettes, 2 tins tobacco, 2 tins preserved fruit. 3 tins tongues, 1 tin jam, 1 tin soup essence, 12 packets jelly powders, 3 pots anchovy, paste, 1 shaving stick, 2 tooth brushes,'2 tubes tooth paste, 3 boxes toilet soap, 5 cakes chocolate, 1 writing tablet and envelopes,, 2 Balaclavas,- 7 packs cards and donation os. After supper dancing took place, and a very pleasant evening was brought to a close about midnight. The cuclu-e tournament was won by Mrs Birch and Mr D. O’Connell, the booby prizes being awardod to Miss E. Goldicn and Mr B, Baker.
