SCARGILL SHOW.

IN AID OF PATRIOTIC FUNDS. Tho annual show under the auspices of tho Scargill Horticultural and Homo Industries Society was held yesterday and was ill every way a success. AH the profits,;

from the show will bo devoted to patriotic purposes. To sv. ell the funds the local Rod Cross and Lady Liverpool workers had stalls for-itbe sale of produce, fancy goods,

siv'eets and flowers, and with the assistance of’ a largo contingent of young people good business was done. The display of spring flowers was excellent, the narcissi and hyacinths being of exceptionally high merit. Tho exhibits, in tho cookery section were also of all-round excellence, and the school children exhibited some creditable .specimens of pen and pencil work. An interesting feature of the show was a comprehensive-

display of Red Cross and Lady Liverpool work, for which prizes were awarded. A short programme of athletic sports was carried out during tho afternoon, and tho children had an “ All Nations ” procession in appropriate dross, singing the National Au themsv ( ai the Allies as they marched.
