SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
LINWOOD. At tho fast meeting of the Linwood School Comm ittee there wero present Messrs W. H. Denton (chairman), F. King, H. F. Herbert, G. Phillips, W. M’Clurg and R. Carter (secre'ary). The Beard of Education forwarded Senior Inspector Brock’s report on his recent examina.ion of the sohool. The all-round excellence of the report was favourably commented on by members, and) it vas decided to write to the head master, congratulating him and his staff on the results ■obtained. The head master reported that there were 661 pupils on the roll, and the average attendance was 696. Twenty-three new punils had been admitted Bince tlie spring holidays. Many pupils were contributing weekly to the Red Cross-and Lady Liverpool Funds. It was decided to erect an honours board in honour of ex-pupils of tho school who have offered .heir services to thoir country, and Messrs Denton, Phillips and tho head master (Mt ,F. T. Evans were appointed a committee to carry arrangements. The secretary repor ed that the recent social in aid of -.he school funds had resulted in a profit of £ll 3s 6d. Messrs King and M’Clurg were appointed a visiting committee.
