WOMEN’S NATIONAL RESERVE
SUMNER-REDCLIFF’S BRANCH. A meeting of the Sumner-RedclifF’s branch of the Women’s National Reserve, was held in the Town Hall last n.gnt. The president, Mrs H. J. Marn..c'i;, occupied the chair. A resolution of sympathy was passou witlTMrs \V, G. Roberts on the death oi heir mother, the late Mrs E. W. Cunnirigtpn, one of the first honorary members of the branch. Tho president gave a resume of the work done during the past month and heartily thanked the members for theii liberal support.’ The president welcomed Mrs William "Wood, the president of the Canterbury "Women’s National Reserve, who gave a most interesting address on the sociwork in connection with tne social club for soldiers on leave. The s-'.-nker also referred to the Women’s National . Reserve classos in typewriting. including bookkeeping, and in gardening, and said they were giving splendid results. On .the motion of Mrs H. J. Marriner, a very, hearty vote of thanks was accorded: to Mrs Wood, and the meeting decided to give afternoon tea at the new dub room, every Friday afternoon.
