annual meeting. Tho annual meeting of the Canterbury Baptist Auxiliary was held in tho Linwood Baptist Church on "Wednesday, relegates were present from the churches at Oxford Terrace, Sydenham, Spreydon, Linwood, Riccartou, Oxford, Lincoln, Rangiora, Kaiapoi, Ashburton and Timaru. Mr Shipley, president of the auxiliary, presided. The report, which was presented by tho secretary (Mr IV. T. Jones), stated that a. new church had been built at Timaru, and a new mission hall at Opawa. The treasurer also submitted his report. The missionary treasurer (Mr A. E. Carey) reported that the sum' of £382 17s 9d had been contributed by the Canterbury Baptist Churches for their mission work in East Bengal The reports were adopted. A public meeting was held in the evening, when addresses were delivered by the Rev F. Oldriove, of Ashburton, and Pastor Lascellos, of Timaru. An excellent programme of musical items was given ov the Linwood Choir.
