The Springston South sports gala was held in Lake Ellesruere Domain on New Year's TW. The proceedings were very enjoyable, and a largo number of visitors came from OhristchurcJi and surrounding district*. The> events were got off in good time, and much praise for the success of the day is due to the "secretary, Mr G. A. M'Bean, and the treasurer, Mr A. Cooper, who. were ably assisted'by an energetic committee. The proceeds from various competitions were donated towards the Belgian Fund. During the day an excellent programme, wasvgiven by the Ist Infantry. Band.
