BURNHAM POULTRY FARM.
TO THE EDITOE.
Sir,T-As a visitor to Burnham poul-) try farm I was much struck!‘by'tha* secrecy' used' by cur present 'Govern-' ment' in closing, the farin'. , quite,/ .unknown to the public, and the wanton destruction that has been going on there of late passes all comprehension. I arrived there as a buyer, having.,received word from the manager that there was still poultry for sale/- but found to my disgust that .hbt- : a-bird, remained. Everything has been .quiet-; ly removed, but the public .are still gullible enough to blissfully place all ; confidence in Mr Massey, and imagine this industry is still going -along smoothly. It appears to -me that neu effort has been made for the past /two i years to push the farm' forward—utter j neglect is the only term to be applied, j There are scores of people .bewailing; this neglectful state,of things in t-ka,t; they cannot get their wants supplied sufficiently in any of the products of this poultry farm.' Now; I ask what has the public to see for; the money that has been squandered on this prom-1 ising asset? ' Nothing-but tlie/gates j of Burnham depot closed against ...them: and not a protest has heard from, any corner to know the meaning'df-this unpardonable imposition. .The . farm lias paid, and paid handsomely, and could still have been brought /to -a higher standard if' only an infinitesimal effort had been made by-.those now responsible for it being dragged down to rot and decay.—l am,-etc., •GAME INDIAN.
