NORTHERN UNION TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, February 26. The Northern Football Union .has arranged to consider a proposal to accelerate the Challenge Cup and League finals in order to release the players making the Australian tour. It has already been arranged that sixteen will arrive in Sydney on June 1, but the complete team will not arrive before the middle of JunS, unless the finals are accelerated. ENGLISH FOOTBALL. (Reecived March 2, 12.35 a.m.) LONDON, February 28. In the League • competitions Oldham drew with Liverpool, two goals each; Bradford City beat Sunderland by one goal to nil; Bolton tied with Middlesborough with one goal; Blackburn tied with Tottenham with one goal each; Manchester United tied with Newcastle, with two goals each; Aston Villa beat Chelsea by three goals to nil; ,Preston beat Burney by four goals to three; Everton beat Manchester City by one goal to nil; West Bromwich beat Derby by two goals to one; Sheffield Wednesday beat Sheffield United by two goals to one. In the Association game Scotland drew with Wales, no score resulting. In the Rugby game Ireland beat Scotland by six points to nil. CANTERBURY RUGBY LEAGUE. The final meeting of the Management Committee of 1913 was held on Saturday evening. The centre decided to support the motion of the Auckland League regard ing the suggested conference. of all affiliated leagues to be held in Wellington on March 20. Mr E. J. Foster was elected Canterbury delegate. It was decided that the attention of the new committee should bo drawn to the offer made by Mr T. Cox in reference to the supply of list of fixtures for the season, and that the committee should accept the offer. The chairman and secretary were appointed to draw up the annual report. • A letter of thanks was passed to the St John Ambulance Association for its support. The secretary of the Domains Board .■wrote stating that the applications for grounds had been accepted. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mr Hooper for his services as chairman during the season.
