THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM,
MATCH AGAINST WANGANUI. [Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, February 24. The Australians commenced a match against Wanganui to-day. Wanganui won tho toss and elected to bat, the score at lunch being 51 for one wicket. At lunch time heavy rain set in, and it continued throughout the afternoon, preventing the resumption of play. Prospects of _ a fine day to- 1 morrow are not promising. Following are the scores:—
Total for one wicket . 51 A cricket match was played on Saturday between Green’s Club and a team from Messrs Cooper and Price’6, the former winning by 139 runs. J Bourne 91 ? J. Berkstone 95 batted best for the winners, and Lionel Aston 25, Licky 21 batted best for tlie losers.
