A noisy demonstration, with, blowing of whistles, against the three years’ service law, was made at the unveiling by the Minister of War of a monument to his predecessor, General Berteaux, who was killed by an aeroplane while watching the ParisMadrid race. It is anticipated that the Government will have a critical time and a consequent split in connection with the service law.
