METEOROLOGICAL RECORD.

The following observations have been taken at the School of Agriculture, Lincoln (self-registering instruments), for previous twenty-four hours ending 9.30 a.m. on;—

Pneumatic telegraphy ie to have a trial in Melbourne. A determined fight to a finish between a cat and a snake is reported to have occurred at Bulbnrne, near Clarei, South Australia. The snake was approaching some children playing near a pettier’* door, when a cat came to the. rescui-., fiercely a?,tacked the repuie, and succeeded in killing it. The snake, however, bio it.-j antagonist in several placet, and she died later on.
