DRAINAGE BOARD ELECTIONS.
The nominations of candidates for the extraordinary vacancies on the Drainage Board, which have occurred in various sub districts either through no nominations having beem received, on the first occasion, or through informality in the previous nominations, took place at Mr G. L. Lee's office at noon yesterday. The following candidates were nominated respectively for the sub-districts named : Spreydon—Abraham Ashworth Christchurch, S.E.—S. Manning „ B.W.—W. Vincent „ N.E.—S. C. Farr Dr Doyle „ N.W.—Dr Prins J. E. Parker Messrs Ashworth, Manning, and Vincent being the only candidates nominated for their sub-districts, will be declared duly elected. The polling for Christcburch, N.E. and N.W. sub-districts, will take place on Jan. 17, at the Orange Hall, Worcester street, and the City Council Ohambers respectively.
