SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
YALDHVBST. Tho ordinary monthly meeting of title Committee took place on Friday evening i present—Messre Taylor (Chairman), Franks, and Hopworth. Letters were read from the Education Board, advising payment to Committee’s credit of £22 11s 3a, salaries, Ac., for the month of December i and re appointment ot auditor; also, enclosing forms for a return of school furniture, apparatus, Ac., together with an abstract of the school fund incidental accounts for the year ending D«o. 81. Tho Chairman undertook to forward same. From Mr Hook, enclosing account for stationery. Owing to the small amount allowed for incidentals, the consideration of discontinuing providing exercise books and making it a charge upon the parents was deferred for a full meeting of the Committee. It was then decided that the school should break up for the usual harvest holidays on Jan. 13, and re-assomblo on Fob. 18. It was also further decided to get the school buildings painted during the holidays; and the Chairman was requested to advertise for tenders for the work in time for that purpose; and also, get a concrete step put to each of the school doors. After passing several accounts for payment, the meeting adjourned. •_
