Judge—Ber 0. Bowen ; Beferee—Mr J. T. Ford ; and Committee of 2i gentlemen. The annual sports were held yssterday on the Cricket Ground, Upper BsooortoP, and missed off very successfully. There was a fair attendance, and the weather, on toe whole, favourable, the heat of the sun being aodtded by a cool breeze. The Artillery Band played a number of selections daring the day in excellent style. Befreshments were supplied at a confectioner's tent, for* lashed by Messrs Hanson and Brake, who appealed to receive a very fair share of patronage. There was no publican's booth on the ground. The course was enclosed by moans of posts and ropes. Some little atten* torn had been bestowed on the tunning track, which was, however, in a rather hard min “ bumpy *’ condition. The head-quarter* of the Committee were situated in a covered waggon, and toe members certainly did their beet to make the gathering a success. A drastics tent wae provided for the nee of competitors. The e ports occasioned a oon* ■tderable amount of interest, and some of the events were well contested. Others, again, were rather hollow.
